EA Sports FC 26 arrives with the weight of expectation. Following last year’s rebranding away from FIFA, EA continues the challenge of convincing fans that FC is more than just a name change. With FC 26, the studio makes a bold structural decision: rather than forcing all players into a single gameplay model, the game now features two distinct playstyles — Authentic and Competitive. This shift acknowledges the long-standing divide within the fanbase between those who prefer tactical, simulation-driven football and those who thrive on fast-paced, high-reward, online competition.
On PC, the ambition is clear: EA wants to offer the definitive football experience with cutting-edge visuals, immersive presentation, and broad game modes. Yet as with many ambitious launches, execution is uneven, and PC players in particular face as many frustrations as they do triumphs.

When Konami first announced Silent Hill f, expectations were high and anxious in equal measure. The Silent Hill franchise has always been about more than monsters in the fog; it is remembered as a series that explored guilt, repression, and the darkest corners of the human mind. After years of dormancy, handing the reins to NeoBards was a gamble, especially given that Silent Hill f would shift the setting from the American town fans knew into 1960s Japan. The question was whether a new cultural lens could still deliver the psychological horror that defined the series. The result is a game that is at once familiar and strange: ambitious in its storytelling, captivating in its atmosphere, flawed in its execution, and technically uneven on PC.

Few racing franchises inspire the kind of cult devotion that Tokyo Xtreme Racer does. For years, fans of the Shutokou Battle series clung to their Dreamcast, PS2, and PSP discs, replaying duels along Tokyo’s expressways long after the genre had moved on to open-world sandboxes and blockbuster spectacles. When Genki announced in early 2024 that the series would return on PC through Steam Early Access, expectations were cautiously optimistic. Could a niche, one-on-one duel-based street racer really thrive in 2025?

When Hades launched in 2020, it redefined expectations for roguelike design. Supergiant Games achieved what many studios never manage: a fusion of sharp, repeatable gameplay with a narrative that unfolded naturally through failure. Few titles since have captured the same alchemy of mechanical mastery and storytelling finesse. With Hades II, Supergiant returns to its first-ever sequel, an inherently risky venture. The result is not only a continuation of what made the original remarkable, but also a substantial expansion of scope, ambition, and thematic weight.
Where Hades was an intimate story of rebellion, family, and escape, Hades II is a broader tale of resistance against one of the oldest and most powerful figures in myth. It asks a bigger question: how does one fight against Time itself?

Skate reintroduces one of gaming’s most beloved skateboarding franchises with an impressive mechanical foundation. Its tactile physics and Flick-It controls set a new benchmark for digital skating, but the PC Early Access release comes with limitations: technical quirks, stripped-back content, and a live-service structure that may not satisfy veterans longing for a traditional career-driven sequel.
It has been over a decade since Skate 3 carved its name into skateboarding history. Where Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater delivered arcade-style spectacle and high-scoring combo chains, Skate made its mark by leaning into authenticity. Its physics-driven design and the now-iconic Flick-It trick system created a sense of weight and creativity that was unmatched at the time. Fans have been asking for a return ever since, and with Skate, EA’s new studio Full Circle has attempted to modernize the formula for today’s always-online, multiplayer-first era.

When Techland announced Dying Light: The Beast, many assumed it was a stopgap — a repurposed DLC spun out into a standalone product. In truth, it is something more interesting: a focused, character-driven return to the series’ roots. Where Dying Light 2 sprawled outward into grand political allegories and faction warfare, The Beast folds inward, zeroing in on Kyle Crane, the original series protagonist, and his violent metamorphosis into something less than human.
This isn’t a complete reinvention of Techland’s formula, but it does feel like a refinement: a concentrated dose of parkour, melee combat, and survival horror, filtered through a darker, more intimate narrative lens.

When Hollow Knight launched in 2017, it redefined expectations for indie games. Its combination of intricate world design, expressive art, and unflinching difficulty made it one of the most celebrated Metroidvanias of the last decade. For years, anticipation for Silksong simmered until it became one of the most discussed unreleased games in gaming history.
After a lengthy wait, Hollow Knight: Silksong finally arrives. The result is a sequel that embraces evolution rather than revolution. It takes the foundation of its predecessor and builds upon it with a faster protagonist, more vertical exploration, expanded combat mechanics, and a world that feels larger, denser, and more varied. It is both familiar and daring — a game designed not to replace Hollow Knight but to stand beside it as its equal.

Borderlands 4 is both a culmination and an evolution. As the latest entry in Gearbox’s long-running looter-shooter series, it builds on two decades of chaotic gunplay, irreverent humor, and RPG-inspired progression. It arrives with a promise: more expansive worlds, deeper buildcrafting, and modern shooter mechanics that align the franchise with contemporary genre standards. On PC, it succeeds in delivering a robust, endlessly replayable experience — but one that, at launch, struggles under the weight of performance issues and inconsistent optimization.

Hell Is Us is a strikingly ambitious action-adventure game that combines tense combat mechanics with a grim and often emotionally heavy narrative. On PC, the title benefits from flexible graphics options, stable performance, and well-implemented input support, making it a strong showcase of how a story-driven game can retain cinematic qualities without sacrificing gameplay depth. It is not without its flaws, but the game’s ability to weave storytelling, atmosphere, and action into a cohesive whole leaves a lasting impression.

Bloober Team has steadily built a reputation as a developer unafraid to experiment within the horror genre. From the painterly psychological spirals of Layers of Fear to the dual-reality puzzles of The Medium, the studio has consistently leaned toward atmospheric storytelling over systemic gameplay. With Cronos: The New Dawn, however, the studio aims to broaden its scope and deliver a survival horror experience with a stronger emphasis on mechanics, pacing, and cinematic presentation. The result is a strikingly ambitious project: a time-travel survival horror title that combines retro-futurist aesthetics with resource-driven tension. It is a game that dazzles with its world-building and mood but occasionally falters when the action becomes the central focus.

The NBA 2K franchise has always occupied a complicated place in sports gaming. On the one hand, it consistently delivers the most realistic, visually stunning depiction of professional basketball ever committed to code. On the other, its reliance on microtransactions and incremental yearly updates has created an air of cynicism around each release. Fans approach every September with cautious optimism: will this year’s edition finally honor the sport while respecting the player’s time, or will it be another case of brilliant gameplay buried beneath questionable design decisions?

Few games promise the adrenaline rush of Metal Eden, the latest offering from Reikon Games (Ruiner). Set in the colossal orbital city of Moebius, this first-person shooter throws players into the shoes of Aska, a Hyper Unit android sent on a suicide mission to recover the last fragments of humanity. It’s a striking vision of a broken world—equal parts industrial ruin and neon dreamscape—delivered through blistering gunplay, high-speed traversal, and the philosophical musings of a machine.
But while Metal Eden excels at moment-to-moment action, its short campaign, weak narrative, and uneven technical performance prevent it from achieving true greatness. It’s a game that burns bright—and fast.

Few indie projects have carried the kind of mythos that Lost Soul Aside has. What started back in 2016 as a prototype by a solo developer, Yang Bing, caught fire with its first trailer—a stunning mash-up of high-speed combat, flashy particle effects, and anime-inspired spectacle. Sony took notice, offering support and studio resources, and almost ten years later the game has finally launched on PlayStation 5 and PC.
The question is whether the reality lives up to that dream. The short answer: partly. Lost Soul Aside is a thrilling, stylish action RPG with combat that can rival genre giants, but it arrives with storytelling missteps and a PC port that requires patience—or a monster rig—to shine.
