I've used this tweak program before but didn't gain any noticeable improvement in FPS in any of my games, nor did the system seem more responsive. But who knows, I probably did something wrong somewhere beforehand and disabled something I shouldn't have.

Hi regeneration,
I really like your tweaker, I ran it on my system and all is ok
I agree with other members, feature missing in windows universal tweaker is a Windows GUI (maybe with checkboxes for every tweak and a bottom bar with the tweak description on mouse on, plus an apply button and the ability to remember what checked last time for restore feature)

I hope it will be in the next 0.5 release

P.S.
A little help: my pc is connected on internet via lan card with nat... do I need netbios or other services to be enabled?
I usually use windowsupdate feature, will it still work if I disable uneeded services with your tweaker? If not how I can fix it?

thanks again

another question if I can ask:

the installer puts url file in favorites folder but this doesn't work with non-english versions of XP... for example in my italian xp, favorites folder is "preferiti"... can you fix it please?
also I noticed the installer leaves some files like xput04.exe in the windows folder... are they needed to stay? if not can you make the installer erases all files after apply tweaks?

thanks and sorry for all the questions

P.S.
After applying the tweaks windowsupdate website doesn't work anymore, what services do I need to re-enable? can you make this optional in the next release?

thanks

and no files is suppose to stay, It' because of your non-english OS.

but windows folder is the same for all windows languages...
the installer leaves xput04.exe in it (I don't know if there are other files)

if you can fix it in the next release (you can use %systemvariables instead of direct folder name) thanks in advance

also if you want to make the tweaker multilanguage I can help with italian translation

a few other suggestions for your tweaker...
please make these services optional when you choose "disable unneeded services":

- Windows Time (it gives errors if you disable it keeping enabled the time server synchronization feature in the time properties)

- Protected Storage (if you disable it you are no more able to store passwords in the ie login boxes, I suggest to set it automatic by default leaving to the user the choice to store or not his passwords ticking or not the save password option)

- Fast User Switching Compatibility (if the pc is used by different users, it needs to be enabled to use all multi-account xp features)

- Help and Support (I agree to disable it but it seems to be useless because Windows sets it back to automatic the first time you run windows help)

P.S.
A personal consideration: is it not better to set all useless services to manual instead of disabled? In this way you obtain the same tweaking results (because windows doesn't load them and resources are not wasted) but at the same time windows can run them when/if they are needed (because they are not disabled) and all the errors related to windows cannot start services because disabled are voided...
what do you think?

Thanks in advance and sorry for all these posts, I hope you'll appreciate my suggestions

P.S.
When you make some services optional please add a little description of them in the screen with the question because a lot of people doen't know services by name and it's more difficult to understand if a particular service is needed or not for their systems

This is an awesome tool! I've been doing all of this mess by hand, in part because I never seemed to find a tool that did exactly what I wanted.
