Hi there,

I tried the tweaker and had a look at what was changed in my system.

Since there is no documentation which settings are exactly changed, I am sure I missed many.

But I noticed that among others the following changes where made, which I see some problems with:

DISABLE8DOT3 is set, which means that no old style 8.3 type file names are written by the file system. While this works well with most current software, at least Symantec Installation Routines and LiveUpdate does not work without it (and I think Antivirus as well)!!!

RWIN 250000+ is set for DSL, which seems to be a far too high value, especially given the fact that Tweaker doesn't ask how fast my connection really is (DSL-1mbit, or 2mbit, or 6mbit)? 1mbit and slower is still the most common option out there, so a RWIN of 250k is way too high. Half of this would be very suffient, and for most servers in the western regions of the world, even a fourth or less would be high enough. B)

Default fsutil

You can easily change the 8dot3 behavior in a dos box with fsutil
syntax:
fsutil behavior set [{disable8dot3 {1|0}|allowextchar {1|0}|disablelastaccess {1|0}|quotanotify frequency|mftzone value}]

So to turn it on
fsutil behavior set disable8dot3 0

To see if it's on or off:
fsutil behavior query disable8dot3
which will reply if it's off:
disable8dot3 = 1

Many people think you need to hack the registry and don't know about fsutil so I though I'd share
