#24 | | Newbie | I have both X-Fi and SB Live (should be a multioption pool). Awesome sound cards. I left my SB inside my PC, just becouse I need the MIDI port and I don't want to buy a external USB adapter.
Have a nice day! |

It sounds better than my Live!
Nothing can beat my old AWE64 Gold. The EMU-8000 Kicked ass! I'd still be using it if it wasn't an ISA card.

#27 | | Newbie | I have to admit that my SB X-Fi is damn good, despite all the problems surrounding it at the moment with the driver issues etc...
Never had a problem with mine so far (fingers crossed) and its a marked improvement on my old audigy.

#28 | | Guest | Same as richy-boy, using the X-FI Xtrememusic card.
Sounds freaking out of this world! Needs new driver support though, including OpenAL support because I can't get Quake4 to run unless I use the latest beta drivers.
In the past i've had..........
nVidia Soundstorm - 6/10
Philips Sonic Edge - 5/10 - cheap, cheerful and instantly returned to the shop
Realtek ALC850 - 5/10
Audigy LE - nice sound for £18 GBP
X-FI 10/10 - ten times better than any of the above!
Cheers,
A. | |
