CPU: AthlonXP @2340mhz
GPU: ATI Radeon X1950Pro
M/B: Abit NF7-S rev2.0
RAM: Ultra XL 1GB Dual Chan
PSU: Thermaltake 500W

My custom PC audio system:
2 sound cards: Philips Acoustic Edge 5.1 and Philips Ultimate Edge 24bit 5.1. The one I use depends on the application. Generally I prefer the Acoustic edge for music, Ultimate Edge for audio editing.

My speakers are a hybrid combination. I had an old Klipsch Pro 4.1 system, with 4 sats at 60 watts each and a sub powered internally at 120 watts.

Now I use the satalites from that system, 2 of them used for a front channel, and one each for the rears. They are powered by two 100-watt Harman Kardon stereo amplifiers. The front speakers are two Jensen JL1400 PA cabinets, powered by a 600-watt Pioneer amp (300 watts per channel). I still use the old Klipsch sub and its internal amp, but its only useful to about 75% volume. At that point, its completely overcome by the sats and the PA speakers.

When my older sister had a recurrence of Cancer I had to move in with her and my Mom, to help out. That means any speakers are just paper-weights and the only way I can get some "space of my own" is to wear headphones.

At least I don't have to worry about the neighbors in an adjoining apartment complaining about the "Noise". And it's strange how I don't complain when they play their stupid music... but when I play mine it's "NOISE"!! So the serendipity is that I now wear headphones but I'm not in prison for shooting some jackass...

The definition of noise is "the unwanted sound", that is any sound you don't want to listen to.

And if they are being fucktards about it, you should be as well. Some neighbors are utter assholes.

i hate asshole neighbors like that, when i lived in an appartment i had neighbors i would constantly have to compete with in loudness contests, and the worst was I was in college so i had to get up early to get to class but they would party till like 4 in the morning, so around 7 when I knew they just fell asleep I would blast my music for an hour or two, if i dont get any sleep then they dont get any sleep

I'd do the same thing. They wanted war so they got it! I'm really happy that I don't live in a apartment so I can listen to music as loud as I like it. Time to finally get myself a proper amp.
