Actualy i was thinking of getting Ati at this time , but ther was absolutly no competition from them in that range price/performance.

#12 | | Stuck in "April 1st" | | M/B: Asus Rampage Formula | | | RAM: G.Skill 2x2GB PI Black | | I've been looking everywhere for a sapphire 4890 toxic/atomic. Nowhere to be found and I can't stand noisy reference coolers.
Regardless my overclocked 8800GT still surprises even myself so I may be hanging onto it for a little while longer. What a fine purchase this was.

Ps. Next gen, I think im going with ATI 5870. As charlie has said, I think ATI will have a advantage in DX11 over NV.

#15 | | Professional Member | Thats an interesting choice Haze brand new core i7 system and 3 4850 gpus...unusual...how well does it work?
Reason I ask is that for my next build when lucidlogix hydra chip mobo's eventually become available I was thinking of slinging 3 or 4 mid range cards in...mid range probably gives you alot more bang per buck than a high end card and with the hydra chip giving they claim 100% multi gpu scaling seems like the way to get a powerful graphics setup for a more modest outlay. (Of course always depending on the cost of a hyrda chip mobo)

I really do prefer how Nvidia's drivers handle 2 displays. Otherwise I might still be using my XFX 4870 1GB XXX (it's boxed up and sitting in the closet!) |
