any anti coke propeganda is just FUD, and mythbusters busted all the coke myths except it seems to be great at cleaning up blood lol

#23 | | Golden Member | Well, I never heard of anyone dying after consuming Mentos with lemonade or orange juice. Maybe it's just another myth, I don't really care. The main problem as I see it with most juices is the fact they contain loads of sugar. Like 40%. That's just too much for me. |

I agree though there is alot of surgar in most soda's, and the ones that dont have surgar contain non sugar sweeteners that are even wrose for you and turn toxic when ingested.
I dont drink it often but i enjoy a can of coke or canada dry every now and again, i dont beleive in not eating something all together because its bad for you if consumed in excess, all things in moderation.

one truth that most people treat as a myth is that any amount of sugar is actually worse for the human body than the amount of cocaine that was contained in the original coca cola.

Are you seriously compairing sugar to cocain? sugar is just carbs which your body actually needs to live, small amouts of sugar or carbs in any form are not only harmless but required to sustain life.
Thats not to say the little bit of cocain in coke was particularly harmful as it was pretty negligible and it doesnt do anything if eaten anyways but dont compair sugar to cocain man, gram for gram cocain will kill you a hell of a lot faster then sugar and while sugar may make you fat cocain will permanently screw you up.

and actually at the time i was speaking in terms of relative amounts over a lifetime of use.
but yes, refined sugar is surely poison and the harmful effects of refined sugars can be just as profound as the harmful effects of cocaine.
what could be more profound than an early death?
the biggest difference is that our daily lives are permeated with the use of refined sugars to the point where it's almost a global social norm. most americans tend to feed sugar to their children every day and no one really cares, while cocaine remains an illicit drug...
yes, both can kill you but either one will ruin your life with unbridled use...

#30 | | Master of Disaster | | CPU: Phenom II x3 720 @ 3.4 | | while diabetes is a disease where your body cannot regulate its own blood sugar level it is not completly directly linked to sugar intake, new studies are showing that it is more likely linked to insuficent vitamine D intake, this is why diabetes is more prenevoelnt in colder cliamets, the further you get from the equator the more cases you see, less sun = less vitamine d.
again you cannot comapire coke to sugar, where with a healthy diet a moderate intake of sugar is harmless and will not lead to any adverse side effects the same cannot be said for cocain, even light use of coke will negetivly impact your heatlh and likely lead to full on addiction.
As for thoes "functioning" coke heads, even though they may seem to be, its only a matter of time before ti destroys them, coke use can only end in a few different ways, it will destroy your body, it will destroy your mind, it will destroy your life and ultimatly it will kill you.
Now im not saying sugar is good because in no way is it and an addiction to sugar is just as bad as an addiction to any drug but you just cant comapir the two, a gram of sugar a day wont do anything, a gram of coke a day will eventually ruin you
What i find strange is that even with all this technology we cant develop a safe, non toxic sugar alternative and the only two natural ones arent very good theres what stevia which tastes pretty bad and xylatol which while tasting alot like sugar is only really useful as a very effective laxative.
