they all give deliberately fake results under certain circumstances.
why is it their business to attempt to stop piracy while they pretend to be "defending" the user?
and for that reason, why should i trust any of them?
i think a/v programs are just another information gathering device and none of them can be trusted.
i should add that when i did use a/v, f-prot was the only one i trusted because it was the only one that wasn't a hog and it never produced false positives for the longest time but i think it eventually went sour just like the rest of them.
and it wasn't in the list...
also, in sixteen years of computing and rarely running a/v software, maybe two years total of that entire time, i have had only one computer virus, it was 08-31-03, i will never forget it, it was totally my fault...

I used to think thesame, youll never get a virus, i went 5 years without an antivirus and then bam my computer got it in the butt and i lost tons of my work as a result, point is it may not happen often, it may not happen for a long time but when it does happen youll be kicking yourself for not having an antivirus installed
The majority of anti virus solutions are trustworthy, f-prot was good but its slipped a bit sitting at a detection rating of 91.87%
but yea, any way you shake a stick at it, its not a bright idea to run without an antivirus unless your backing your HD up on a daily basis (f**** that noise) and there's not anti virus consperecy :P |

Why I think kaspersky is the best is this: It uses the least resources, has only max two services in the background and not like 4-6 like Avast. And its easy to use, plus its great at finding viruses. And Kaspersky is one of the best AV software to not find false positives... (avast )...

Never unintentionally caught anything. There is only one AV that protects you from everything - your brain. It has zero services in the background, makes you hungry here an there and doesn't generate a lot of false positives. Also, it's free. |

One day, I plugged my flash drive into friend's PC and his AV deleted some of my software development stuff because of UPX.. which is quite popular these days. |

| pre-cisely!
i don't keep anything i give a shit about on the computer. from personal info to media. if your data means anything to you, back-it-the-fuck-up with offline storage...
and yes there is a fucking conspiracy, don't kid yourself, they are all working for the CIA...

#30 | | Master of Disaster | | CPU: Phenom II x3 720 @ 3.4 | | lol Doom, as long as you dont start proclaiming FEMA is going to kill everyone too lol
backing up is all well and good but i have better things to do then to back all my work up every day, an antivirus buys a little peace of mind and if you choose the right one its not gonna impact your systems performence
and mkey, it will happen m8, try al lyou might it may be tomorow or in 5 years but it will happen weather its by your hand or someone using your system, id rather have a antivirus installed then have to watch my every move and always second guess weather a file is legit or not |
