I don't use any. They are too tedious and I don't visit pron sites anyway.

If something get's fucked up, I do a quick reinstall and that's that.

I just had a ton of virus, malware and spyware. Trojan Remover did the job, where both nod32 and avg could not install beacause of the virus. Nod 32 was installed at first. but then i suddenly couldnt start up Nod32. had a hard time uninstalling and tried to reinstall. It worked once but had same error. Then I installed Trojan Remover. That worked. Nod 32 didnt detect near a brink of what trojan remover could manage to find. So im staying with Trojan Remover, lavasoft ad-aware & peerguardian 2.

What does people think about peerguardian2 and lavasoft ad-aware btw? any side comments?

Firstly, every protection software will detect something other programs won't. Some time ago I was real keen on keeping my system clean so I installed half a dozen of antyspyware programs. Each and every one of them would find something after the previous one did a full system scan and clean.

Keep in mind that the system will be left damaged (less stable and more slow) after each infection. I choose data backup and clean and fast system over constant repairing and cleaning.

Secondly, I think peerguardian (even though its function is somewhat different form an AV software or the likes) is great. That coupled with HotSpot Shield makes me feel safe whenever on the internet.

Avast. Been using it since 2005. It is pretty lightweight compared to other antivirs that I have used and it is pretty secure as well. Mix it up with Comodo Firewall and hadn't had any problems.

Changed from kaspersky to NOD32 about 2 years ago because kaspersky had become too slow, especially the scan on demand function.

I dont use anti-virus myself (I always use jotti to scan files), but when someone ask for a recomendation I just say NOD32. Its been lightweight and trouble-less for all installations I have done.

Avast. I have to say it works great. I find it better than NOD32 and it is free.

You avast and nod users should try avira, its definetly the best free antivirus, it has a detection rating of 97.13% vs Avast's 93.78% and nod's 93.38% and im fairly sure its actually smaller and faster then avast (atleast it was last time i tried avast) I would definetly recomend it over avast or nod

Avira is leaps and bouds better then mcafee (86.57%) and norton (83.34%) which will only cause oyu problems and slow oyur system down, even if you got thoes two for free throw the disk away, the worst free alternative is better then these things.
