You ignore one fact - nobody hates Linux, but there are loads of people who don't like MS monopolistic politics and their products very much. So they attack them. Whether to prove their own self-worth or to ridicule MS's programmers. |

#22 | | Site Staff | I think Windows 7 should be cancelled or postponed by 1-2 years. Instead, they should provide all these features/fixes in the Vista SP2. Having six active operating systems in the same time could damage the industry. Look at us for example, how the hell could I support six OSes in the same time? this is impossible. Another thing is... Microsoft must pull the plug on the 32-bit in Windows 7. |

I, too, think a lot of the improvements I've seen could just as easily be part of a SP for Vista.
Also, the move to 64-bit has convinced me that it's the way to go. With RAM prices so dirt cheap these days, it's foolish to hang onto 32-bit. I mean, I can remember paying a couple HUNDRED dollars for 4 MB! [You read that right: MB...not GB!]
It would be interesting, though, to see a survey of just how many corporations are actually still tied down with 32-bit systems. That may be the main impetus behind making that platform still available for some time.

i also agree on the fact that 32 bit version shouldnt exist on Seven, microsoft announced that Vista would be the last 32 bit OS and now we got Seven in 32 bit too, do they really have a brain at microsoft? |

On RAM prices I remember when I got my previous PC in 2002 - 512 MB of Kingmax RAM went for about 140$. With my new build, past fall I spent 100$ on 4 GB of RAM. |
