But im 100% sure MS will fix those bugs/instabilities before release! So im sure it will be the best OS so far, just the difference between beta 7000 and build 7022 is huge. 7022 is so much more stable, and much faster! So im eager to see the end result.

It was so stable and functional that like a stable release and I was reluctant to upgrade to the final release.

Linux is surely a great OS (never liked it my self), but the biggest and in a sence the only problem with Linux is that you cant game on it. And as long as you cant game on it (dx9-dx10++++) it will never be a success in the mainstream. Give me a linux you can play games on like all the dx9+dx10+dx11 games, and not only with software like Wine, I could even think about using it, but not until then!?

#16 | | Golden Member | Not bad at all.
If performance is any indication, then W7 might be an excellent OS as in it's beta stage it performs just as good as Vista SP1 32 bit does. At least on my system and for the games I tested - like GTA IV, COD4 and such.
Beta 64 bit OS, beta ATI driver and it still performs well. If nothing more, a pretty good start. IMO.

7 is just an evolution of Vista, everyone working in the IT domain knows it, basicaly they changed the interface, remove / fuse few process, and worked on the loading time / memory use
on the other hand 7 is so far from XP, it has absolutly nothing in common
only common point between XP and 7, it the same as between XP and Vista : they can both run the same executable, for the rest they are as near as linux is |

But to my knowledge, and please tell me if im wrong. The fact that Linux is almost free from virus´s is not because its such a great and stable OS, but because so few use it and most "hackers/virusmakers" that do Viruses want to have huge spread as possible and that it has the biggest possible chance of succes. For an example, I doubt you would make a movie for beta-max players today, it would be stupid as no one would rent it as no one owns one, not ever!? Thats like throwing youre money in the lake! Its the same with those bastards that want to hurt our dear computers, why sit hours/days to make code that has barely anyone to affect? So I have nothing against Linux, but that it would be some kind of Virus beating super software code is just not true, the only thing that makes it so "free of problems" is its minimal market share=few users?!

#19 | | Newbie | | CPU: AMD X2 5600+ @ 2.99Ghz | | | GPU: nVidia 7950GTOC 512Mb | | Loved Vista Ult. x86-64 for its stability and smooth performance on my desktop and notebook. Liked 7 so far but it feels just like my experience on Vista 64 bit. Do like the new superbar, and other little tweaks such as showing what networks are available instead of being told there are connections.
I did switch my notebook recently back to Linux not because I dislike Windows Vista, quite the contrary. I went back to Linux on the notebook because it sort of looks bad to help people with Linux when I wasn't using it myself. Was going to go back to Foresight but got Arch Linux with KDEMOD 4.2 up, and running.
You know, it doesn't matter what you type to people or what proof you give them to the contrary, they will stay stuck in their view about something despite being given all the information that makes their point moot. |

Right now I have three operating systems at home: Vista 32bit and Ubuntu 8.10 on my laptop, Vista 64bit on my desktop. For my 18th birthday (June 20th), I'm getting the aluminium MacBook Pro, so OSX will also be in my home.
