red alert 3 ok i am a huge fan of C&C but sinds EA took over they screwed it up big time, it looks like a f***ing japanese kiddy cartoon. and off course the boycot.
hells highway is a joke.

i vote for fall out 3.
Yes but Fallout 3 is THIRD PERSON.

Only consoles go third person and ALL console games Suck.
(Unless they are driving/riding games).

Unless you are in first person, the feeling of 'being there' will never happen.

Fallout 1 & 2, and BoS, were RPGs. But 3 is more of a FPS, with RPG elements. Well, I guess, working on those "elements" does make a real difference in how the game plays. But it's still a FPS.

In my mind the RPG part makes the game far more interesting. After all my countless hours of MMORPG play, regular FPSs don't offer much gameplay. But that's my 2¢ worth!

I wanted to play mass effect too for a long time and I got a copy but I wasn't super-impressed, in fact i wasn't really impressed at all. Initially the combat was very slow (far too slow in upgrading weapons and skills) which meant the storyline took a while to develop and thus as the storyline is central to the game I found myself completely bored very early on. Overall not impressed by this one.

In all honesty (I must come clean now) by far the best game I have played in the last few weeks has to be Crysis Warhead (yes, I sneakily got myself a copy).

This is how the original Crysis really should have been. It runs beautifully on my machine at high res and it was just fuckin awesome, seriously. The only problem? Precisely that, it was awesome. It was awesome and then it was over far too quickly. Its much shorter than the original and I completed the single player campaign in just over a day, and it left me very thirsty for more. Hence now I realise why it costs half the price of the original.

Surprisingly though, I didnt have any DRM issues at all. It must have been the fact that I opted NOT to install EA downloader. Game worked seamlessly. This game really was fun. Get it.

Im actually enjoying mass effect but im an rpger so i like a long drawn out story, though I also really like fps and tactical so i do agree the action does leave something to be desired, i could think of many ways in which it oculd be improved but overall so fars its a very enjoyable game, hopefully someone will make some mods for it eventually to bring it up to its full potential.

As per crysis, well i havent tried it because with my rig there is no point, unless i can run a game maxed out i dont bother with it and so far crysis is the only game i cant get 20+ fps maxed out, hoping after christmas i can save up enough money to build a new rig but who knows, money is so tight right now its not even funny

Warhead has been optimised and I can safely say it runs about 5x smoother than the original at high/medium settings, however, its still not perfect and because I always play at high res i have still had to reduce some settings (I also like to run all my games maxed where possible) - despite this there's still more eye-candy than you can shake a stick at.

I think I'm gonna go back and play it again on Delta now
