Yes, thats why we all love it so much, but if Microsoft have their wicked way and "Windows-ize" everything e.g with Games for Windows (and the inevitable costs that they will bring to bear a-la Xbox live) they will in effect be closing this "open platform"...
... that's why Games for Windows cannot be allowed to succeed. Otherwise there's a good chance the freedom we PC Gamers enjoy so much will disappear.
What's next after "Games for Windows Live!"? - "Games for Windows certified GPU's and CPU's ??" You know what i'm saying, thats the reality, and the future if we don't do something about it.
