Don't you remember all the screaming and yelling that was going on after Oblivion was released? Everyone was saying pretty much the same things about it. Yet, on many forums and websites it got GOTY for 2006. (Even this one, if I recall correctly. )

You do have to remember that it's the games that push the hardware and not the other way around.

CPUs aren't the only hardware involved in gaming. When it comes to the 3D environment, things more than the CPU get taxed. You've also got the RAM to consider. It's the whole system that gets taxed when it comes to 3D games.

Just because you can pick up pigeons in Crysis and then throw them off a cliff, doesn't mean it should be game of the year. I still follow Unixlord's opinion: STALKER is the best single player FPS of the year, despite its many bugs.

IMO, from the list above.... Two of them:
Bioshock & UT3

Bioshock looks really interesting, gameplay is cool, plot is more cool :-)

But, i have to say that in the begining game is a little bit boring but... later is really interesting. :-)

This game's graphical effects, world, models, hood & others are just beautiful & workin well@low-end machines too. That's really big and important positive thing in this game.

UT3... Just i love this serie and i'm sure that is good game like all parts before. I have to play demo, after it maybe i'll download or buy it. :-)
