Default Enjoy the Publicity of the Fight!

Basically, I am biased, as I am dependent upon NGO drivers exclusively on my W2K machine with the AGP 7900GT.

I do not want NGO to stop supporting the 7900GT in future driver releases.

Since NGO is not based in the US, you are free to behave as you choose. However, with great freedom comes great responsibility.

Abuses of such freedom will have very dire consequences.

I think so far NGO has been very responsible in this matter with nVidia.

NGO must maintain victim-hood status throughout the future in this issue. The public always rallies around the victim - and abandons the aggressor.

Eventually, under the self induced pressures, nVidia will relent and may release a public statement exonerating NGO for their continued support throughout a difficult period.

Given that NGO is not profiting in any way, no international attorney will have any interest in pursuing NGO in nVidia's behalf.

International intellectual property cases are extremely expensive and time consuming, and there is no potential payoff for anyone involved in this matter.

The greatest beneficiary in this is NGO, thanks to the mounting publicity.

Stay smart....Stay the victim!

So i choosed the option fight. I think with modding those drivers you do the right thing for us, the costumers. That this is against nvidias politics shows their reaction. I think they want to optimize their profit by special "changes" of their drivers. They cant if you will "unlock" those changes.

Hold the line and fight! I think you should handle that as a matter of principle.

I apologize for my eventually bad english, cause im from germany.

Just to tell you this i registred at your page....

Hope you will win this fight. Good luck

greets

but, I guess now that I think about it, I don't think I would stop support for nvidia NGO drivers. I know the ATI ones are always excellent, and if the roles were reversed I would be pissed off if the NGO ATI drivers were stopped.

Plus, its kind of a bold statement, like giving nvidia the middle finger in a way..

the only problem is, they will probably just sue you if you really piss them off.. and that would probably be very not-good.
I like your post and as a Staff member I wish to make clear that this is not an "Official" response from a staff member representing NGOHQ.com

phxz31 you made some good points and I would like to remind the folks out there we are not making money from the NGO Optimized NV or ATI drivers ... we just want our readers and members to have an alternative. We do this to help people and Rege does all the work on the drivers

On NV I can post no response but we are not concerned on the legal front

i chose "Continue and ignore them" because it hink that the right thing to do ( even if i'm not a nvidia fan and now i'm stuck to my 6100 onboard )
