Hey everyone....
Sorry I haven't been here in awhile...Hope to frequent the site more often!
I use Vista on my laptop (see my signature) and it works well... I wish it would be a little more snappier on my laptop, but it works well - no blue screens of death, yet ....
Maybe with the new Service pack, they may improve the performance.... I had the option of xp sp2 on the laptop, but i kinda like the organization and more graphical presentation and look of information on vista - i.e. photo, music and video thumbnails as well as for documents... it makes my life a bit easier....
Xp home sp2 on the same laptop was a speed champ , compared to Vista , which consumes , or i should say "caches" up all my 2GB of RAM ... but it isnt that slow, i can live with it
My most favorite part of vista has to be it's multimedia friendly features - songs , if configured and ripped correctly, display thumbnails of the album they come from - Videos (wmv) have thumbnail previews, documents (xps and openoffice) have them too! All in all , being able to scale your icons to the size you want (including thumbnails) is a great feature/idea

I like my icons BIG and clear and vista was great step foward, in making information more orgainized / easier on the eyes (my opinion)-
Just wish it wasn't tha much of a memory/resource HOG
On my Gateway desktop (see profile description) that has intergrated intel x3000 graphics- Vista is , surprisingly, zippier than my notebook - which has an ATI x1400 graphics card

I dont know much of how computer components work in tandem, but i was pleasantly surprised with vista's performance on the gateway with intel graphics - I may not end up getting a dedicated graphics card for it, if they (intel) improve the performance on vista via their graphics drivers....
Vista is a step in the right direction in regards to the features and look and feel of windows, but a step backward in terms of it's performance....
Just my two cents on Vista ....
Thank you guys!
Edward
