Like I said, this is a neverending war.
Are you saying competition is a bad thing...?!

the only reason I voted nvidia because of the cards themselves not the drivers. that is why i found NGO, your drivers make up a lot for their lack of finesse

ok Fine... The only problem Nvidia had is the drivers ! But the concepts and the architecture of theirs videocard are really fucked up ! Well... Im an old fan of nvidia Hey ... i had an question nvidia don't do good drivers but... i think they do the same thing with the chipsets !!! THEY WANT SELL THE LASTEST CHIPSET ... and don't make new drivers for olders like... 570... etc

I`m not saying it`s a bad thing. It`s just that some times it annoys me.

I'm quoting Extremetech (Technically quoting phoronix which is quoting Extremetech but wth) ...

Quote:
ExtremeTech: The Vista driver, beginning with Catalyst 7.1, contains a "re-architected" OpenGL driver component. Exactly what is "re-architected" about it?

Rogers: Everything. This is a completely new driver, written from scratch in the last three years. ...

...

ExtremeTech: Why make the switch in the Vista driver, and not the XP one? Can XP users expect to get this new re-architected driver in the future?

Rogers: The new OpenGL driver has been designed from the ground up for Windows Vista, Windows XP and Linux and internally we are running and testing it on all three (or six if you count the 64 bit versions).
...
The XP and Linux versions of this new OpenGL driver will ship later this year.

i was once an nvidia fan but ATI has been the leader since the introduction of the x800 series.

i am still rocking my first ati card, x1800xl, it is nicer than every nvidia card i ever owned, from 2d graphics to digital video to 3d games, every aspect of this card is superior to nvidia. the latest model nvidia card that i can use for reference is a 7600, it is much slower 3d and runs a lot hotter and video playback doesn't even come close to the 1800.

i think nvidia is about to get thier heads handed to them by the r600. it's going to be great to witness an honest price war between these two. i think we will all own nice ati cards before it's over...

I have used ATI cards from the 9500 right up to X1950XT/Crossfire but due to R600 delays I recently broke down and grabbed an 8800 GTS and it's a damm nice card

I just hope ATI can actually compete now that they've been bought out.

General Rage - I'll be selling an X1900XT fairly cheap once the HD2000 series debuts.

I think it willbe a while before I get a new video card for my PC, even if the R600 series are tempting. My ASUS EAX1950PRO is quite a good card and i'm truly satisfied with it
