HI ALL
Yup voted nvidia
i own a ati
Love my flight sims and battlefield 1942 -dcf mod
i got a new ati radeon 9600 256mb card for a guy 12 months ago or more
and he backed out of the deal so i installed it and sold my old 256 nvidia with out a second thought
Well with in 2 months the fan actually cracked. and fell to the bottom of the pc with out me noticing .
My games were chunking.still kinda pissed about that.
Still Got that card with a highly modded heatsink and fan, runs most things well for a basic card.
but i have some issues with my flight sim 2004 and bf1942 just dont seem the same.since i got rid of my invidia that was a cheapy too

any card on a good map on a good game i can still come 3rd or better

I play as MORBO usually aus servers for bf1942
fly boys
and game arena mixed mods friendly fire for desert combat

happy hunting all

ATI? It only works with that holes in the walls ........... windows or how do you call them?
It does not work with serious operating systems.

I'm at a cross in the road for my video card picks. in 7 card purchases, only my first, a 5200 was a nVidio the other 6 were ATI's. The last was by far the most expensive and the best. An ATI Radeon X1650PRO 512MB DDR2 PCI E X16, using DX10. frist time I could run everything on high except AA (only 4X). The rest of the set up goes like this:
AMD

If you want a true DX10 GPU I'd go for an 8800GTS320 - the performance will be second to none in the imeidiate price range.

Apparently the 8800 series suck at directx10.

it was a difficult decision. i have changed 2 nvidia and 2 ati cards and now i have nvidia 7900gs on MSI board and i am very happy about it! of course with NGO drivers , nvidia sucks with drivers dmn!! for the money i spend it is very very good card for games and for graphics design. it is the first time i am so satisfied with a card.

so, i voted nvidia...

This was a very hard choice to make i'm sure for quite a lot of people (there are some though, i'm sure who knew instinctively one or the other also). However for me I have always been around -if i calculate it exactly!- 88% completely happy with my x800 which is pretty damn good to be honest, i have in all fairness received years of outstanding service from my trusty Radeon card in all aspects -except overclocking, which in all honesty i thought it would be much much better at, but hey....

However now that i have ordered my 8800 GTX i simply must vote Nvidia -even though I haven't actually got it yet! -I know it will exceed all my wild expectations! -stupid yes, but the excitement is just too much!.... (sigh...one can be so fickle..can't one..?)

- Also the very idea that i could, should i feel compelled to, stick two of those sexy 8800 gtx badboys side by side in Nvidia's longer established SLi mode practically makes me wanna wet myself and has strongly made an impact on the decision making process.

(p.s i voted twice for Nvidia by the way....ha!)
