Default Ideas for Physx on ATI

Hello again...

I know some people are working on making Physx work on ATI cards... but i feel they are working on the wrong side.. its not easy to work with a driver which is pre-compiled

it would be better to get help form people who is good with IDEAS... our members are the smartest i have seen so far... i am sure they will have GREAT IDEAS which can help.

I personally think AMD/ATI is helping use slightly...

CUDA and pysix have SDK and ATI Stream also have SDK...

if someone or some expert can create a HOOK to get info from CUDA or PhysX and convert it to ATI Stream codes (Like a translator)..

The ATI 9.5 really supports STREAM.
3DMark Vantage clearly gives 5 FPS Extra in GPU simulation in windows 7.. if some one can do this hook.. he will be famous and will be known as a legend....

Hope some one can do it before it dies coz of DX11

It is hard to convert CUDA calls to Stream calls without losing performance.

There really is no need. As mentioned in other posts with Windows 7 on the horizon the need for ATI physix is mute. Windows 7 will allow you to run both an ATI and Nvidia GPU's at the same time like in XP. Use Nvidia for Physix and ATI to render. Also with DX11 on up and coming I see physix will either have to play nice with others and open up or shut up.

Personally I see no reason to use a 2nd nVIDIA card when there is absolutely nothing in the way for physx to work on ATI cards except for "a few" modifications. It is false to assume there has been no success from ngohq's side as according to Regeneration, they are in a test - and bug removing phase for a polished "product" release.

It's true that openCL will remove all physx barriers for ATI, but hell ... I live in the present and fyi I actually do want to use physx on my ATI cards now =) - as a number of games released recently or not-so-recently have made me crave for all those extra-special effects generated by that program engine.
