You know, this is important. The multipliers overheat your MoBo (not only the northbridge)
Sometimes growing your FSB and lowering the multipliers reaches super-linear speedup.
This happens because the overall effect of the overclocking (except for GPU) is based in the FSB (communications between CPU and RAM).
So, indeed, for the mentioned CPU, the RAM is the bottleneck
Faster RAM clocks = Faster FSB = Lower Multipliers = More stable MoBo
