ok i got an P4 2.4 ghz system.

I have a micro PGA 478 pin socket on it.
It supports 400/533 frontsidebus and hyperthread technology..
The book says it can handle a P4 1.5 ghz ---> 3.06 and above processor..

Heres my problem: i'm trying to upgrade to a faster cpu,, and everybody i have talked to has said either the cpu is to old or i would be lucky if i found a faster cpu than 2.4ghz..

I know there is a way there always is (i'm hoping)..

Anybody got any ideas?

Just look for 'Intel Pentium 3Ghz CPU Socket 478'. Like this for example. If you can't find one in your area - try to look for one on eBay (Already found one).
