#16 | | Professional Member | | CPU: Intel i7 920@ 4.0 TRUE | | | RAM: OCZ 6GB DDR3 1900mhz | | | PSU: Thermaltake TP 1200W | | I have mostly used Asus boards, they usually rock. But now this time i bought a Gigabyte 965p DS4, and it is much better than my first Asus P5B Deluxe Wifi. Better performance, better bios and much more stable. Asus are great, and have good bios support. But, they often release semi stable bios´s that can wreck youre whole board. My Asus p5b deluxe got the "Fatal system error, chassi intrusion" error. This error happens only Asus boards. And i think its some flaw in both the hardware but specially the bios. So if i were you, id pick a Gigabyte mobo. Other parts in youre list are good.
Edit: Ps. You should buy 2x1gb ram instead of 2x512mb. Much better, because 2gb is almost minimum nowadays, and if you going to upgrade memory to 2gb, you will loose performance with 4x512mb compared to 2x1gb. Just so you know.

And from looking at the P965 Neo F7, about the only thing I might criticize is the placement of the power connector. Of course, depending on the length of the cables used, and how they are routed, it may not be an issue at all.
I might have gone for 2GB of memory instead of just 1GB, but I really like the OCZ modules I've bought over the last few years. In my experience they are superior to Corsair. And at least they seem to program their modules, whereas most companies don't.
Any Flavor of the X1950Pro is what I'm recommending when I build computers lately. They are easilly the best value, and they work with crossfire. So you do have that as an option, should finances allow in the future. (in your case you would need to also upgrade your motherboard for that ...)
Enjoy! |
