Default P4 506 and Gigabyte DS3?

Oh wow its been a long time since i've posted here and my requests for help in the past have never been rejected so here goes...

I tried getting help via alternative methods (Other places ETC.) but nothing.

I have a 506 that i've OC'd from 2.6Ghz to 3.6 and its still not cutting it. I was looking to upgrade to a C2D system but im short on the CPU part money wise. I have enough to go from my current Motherboard and Ram to a DS3 and DDR2.

I have a 1900XT sitting in a box. Knowing the huge CPU bottleneck I have considering my previous 7900GT volt modded to 650/900 scored me 7100 in 3Dmark 05 (650 Core usually allows you to break 10k with a less bottlenecked rig) I've noticed a huge difference in minimum Frames per second when I compared my 7900GT to a friends identical card under the circumstances of a different CPU/Mobo.

Since I wanna play some games now im hoping that my 506 would work in the DS3 motherboard until i can scrounge up enough money to grab a E6400 and give this 506 and my previous motherboard to my brother to replace his dated system.

I know the DS3 supports CPU's at 800/1066 FSB, well I can achieve 800FSB with my CPU although stock its 533.

What are the odds of my 506 working with a DS3?

I found this

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...px?P...uctID=2

I see a 506 on there, does that mean its compatible?

Current System:

P4 506 @ 3.6
Asus P5RD1-VM (ATi Express...Garbage)
1 Gig of Generic PC3200 Ram
Xi-Fi
600W PSU with 28A on the 12V Rail

Thanks a LOT!
