Not only ABIT was a victim of those, though.
Presently, I'm using the one in my sig: ABIT IC7-G and a P4 w/HT @3.2 GHz. This system is about a year and a half old now.
My son, too, uses ABIT boards. Used a TH-7 with RAMBUS for years. Only recently upgraded to something else.
ABIT also has a very, very good forum where one can get help.

#13 | | Advanced Member | | RAM: Ultra XL 1GB Dual Chan | | I have my Abit NF7-S pumping my AthlonXP along at 2.33ghz (233mhz FSB x 10) + 233mhz Dual Channel at CAS 2.0-3-2-11 with CMD@1T. (with the help of tictac's modified bioses, the stock Abit bioses didn't overclock as well)
Occasionally when I am rendering video I will lower it to 222FSB x 10.5 (~2330mhz) to avoid the occasional glitch, but I mostly attribute this to my RAM along with the tight timings I run it at. At 222mhz I can run the memory at 2-2-2-6 @1T without any problems at all, but experienced nforce2 ultra users know that for some odd reason you get best performance when you run the TRAS timing at 11 (2-2-2-11).
When I first purchased my Abit NF7-S I did notice that the voltages were very unstable and consecuently the board didn't overclock well. However as soon as I replaced my Antec TruePower430 with a Thermaltake 500watt PSU, my voltages are now dead on and never fluctuate.

I won't even own a board that has VIA-anything in it. I did two times early on and spent more time trying to get things working instead of actually using the system.
VIA = Very Ill Assembly
