Default AMD X2 4800+

I recently just bought the processor and I am glad to say that this processor is amazing. I passed benchmark test with blazing numbers. Not to mention I can definitely feel a performance difference from the AMD 64 3500+ processor that i had. Overall i would definitely recommend this processor to anyone who is interested.

Smart move liqnit !
Cause prices will drop eventually... AM3 CPU is coming end of 2007...
So bad luck on those persons who everytime spent handfulls of money in this case on a 'state of the art' AM2 CPU which will work with DDR2 (it has 2 be seen yet if the improvement is THAT significant, cause child-disease ALLWAYS occur).

You on the other hand can buy a X2 CPU cheap & sit out the ride with the developments of AM3 (amongst others: DDR3 support) & buy a new board & CPU in about a 2-3 year period in which all child-diseases by then are resolved...

Well squall_leonhart69r read this last post of mine here there is the latest info with the info source links.
Also there is a first released performance test (follow the info-link by copy-ing & pasting) between an 939-socket & AM2-socket motherboard.

Judging from those info sources i think AM2 will not live long enough to survive ... i am afraid...
