Yeah, don't get me wrong, it's a great board and I've read the reviews as well !

It's not that difficult actually, it's all FSB / CPU RATIO / HTT settings. You don't want your HTT to go over 1000. Your not allowed to set a CPU RATIO higher than its default. Your FSB can go as high as your components allow.

Myself, I am running 233x10 = 2330 for my CPU, and 1:1 = 233 for my RAM. If I went 250x10 = 2500 for my CPU, my RAM probably wouldn't hold up without 3.6v to 3.8v (which I refuse to give it), so I'd need a different ratio of 9:10 or 4:5 to keep the 233mhz.

So, I've an extra 330mhz on my CPU, and 66mhz on my RAM. That 66mhz boosts my bandwidth from 5200 to 6200 roughly (according to SiSoftware Sandara's Synthetic Benchmark). I haven't tested the boost from the CPU yet.

Two questions.

What does 1:1 on your RAM mean?

Doesnt your OCZ sticks have the warranty like mine where you can volt mod up to 2.8V before you void the warrant?

My board only supplies 2.7V so I dont have the ability to put more voltage than 2.7 unless I buy the OCZ booster.

1:1 means that your ram matches your fsb (200mhz cpu & 200x2 mhz ram).
9:10 means that your ram runs slower than your fsb (200mhz cpu & 180x2 mhz ram).
5:6 mean that your ram runs even slower (200mhz cpu & 166x2 mhz ram)

So on, so forth . You can read more here: http://eclipseoc.com/index.php?id=6

My ram is Gold, rated at 2.8v for 2-2-2-5 at DDR400 (200x2). It is warranted to 3.0v +/- 5%. So, to run it at DDR466 (233x2) I needed 3.3v, and am using the DDR Booster.

No problem, I build computers as well in my spare time. This isn't something I learned until I built my A64 system about 3 months ago !

I wonder which system is faster? Yours or mine? (By mine I mean after I buy the X2 3800+)

That, I don't know, because yours has 2 cores and mine only 1.

So, you'll whoop me in anything that can use both cores, but will be about the same if the application only uses 1 core, because the default clock speed is 2.0ghz for both the X2 4800+ and 64 3200+ .

What were you talking about here with Rev1 or Rev2?

There were 2 revisions of the PC3200 Platinum memory.

Rev1 was capable of 2-3-2-5 @ 2.6v, and Rev2 was capable of 2-2-2-5 @ 2.75v.
Note that the Rev2 takes a little more voltage, and is covered by EVP to a higher voltage as well.

EDIT: Rev1 @ http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...annel_platinum
EDIT: Rev2 @ http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...platinum_rev_2
