It could but the chipset its uses probably hinders is fully potential as it doesn't use an AM2 chipset.

I'd rather just buy a new amz mobo then haveing to pop one of those riser boards in.

If you wanted to buy this riser board you would need new memory and an AM2 cpu. Might as well spend the small amount more and get a better board since you have to buy everything anyways.
