Default AMD 3500+ or Intel 3.4G

what yous think im look for a new CPU and i got the 3.4G P4 or the AMD 3500+ to pick from what would be the best out of the 2

the 3500+, I have a p4 running at 3.67 and the 3500+ beats it at stock.

I would most certainly go for the 3500+, especially if you're planning on gaming. AMD chips are most certainly gaining ground lately, especially in regards with their priceerformance ratio.

yeah well it is for gaming i im building another pc but i got a P4 3.4 now and it is overclocked at 4GB would you think that is bad for it coz my mate says i should be happy it works but it seems to run fine

As long as the OC is stable at 4GHz, and you have adequate cooling on the chip and in your case, I see no reason for you to run it at stock speed.

Do you think i have got the cooling to have my CPU at 4GHz this is my cooling i dont know mcuh about OC if you have not noticed thermaltake cooling heat sink & fan with 2 heat pipes and i got a sdie case fan and to rear and on front fan for good air flow do you think that cooling it good enough to over clock to 4 ghz it runs about 45c idol i think around 60 underload

Well, I never like seeing temps above 50c idle, and seeing as you're JSUT below that, so you should be fine. I also suspect that you might have a P4ee, which would also contribute to the heat.

Go for the AMD and the cash you save will buy some games to play for the holidays.
