probably put to much on... this happens lol,
remove the heatsink and rub the artic silver into the base of the h/s then put some new artic silver on the cpu die

Yeah, I have to agree with screenager. Probably your thermal grease has dried up. Try rubbing a new one!!!

my cpu was running way hot the other day, i havent cleaned my cpu fan and heatsink in a long time, it was running around 50-55C idle!!
after i cleaned out the heatsink and fan, it went down to 36C idle LOL
so check that it does help alot haha
