CPU: Pentium D 820 2.8 Ghz
GPU: ATI HD2600 XT GDDR4
M/B: Dell DXP051
RAM: 2GB Corsair PC2-6400
PSU: Dell Stock 375W
Default QX 9650 or Q9450

Is it worth getting the QX9650? How far can it be overclocked. Im thinking of either getting the QX 9650 or just going for the Q9450 and overclocking it.

If I dont get the QX9650 I will go for maybe a HD 3870 X2, a DDR3 Motherboard and some RAM for it, or maybe a Blu Ray Burner. My next PC wont come for another 2 or 3 years so whatever I get will have to last. I wont be able to afford any upgrades over $500 either, unless I get a job.

Well... THE QX9650 don't worth really it's price... it's more oriented to HARDCORE POWER END USERS..... and anyways i think it's just an dumb initiative from companies to put thoses types of processors.... the only good thing with thoses are you still have your warrenty if you overclocked your processor... but i think with all this cash for this processor you can brought KICK ASS videocard instead... and i think overclock an QC it's totaly useless...

you should understand quickly while i say go for the q9450 and save your money as well on the ddr3 and buy a good gfx card or any other toy although bluray burner is a waste of money right now when its at its highest price and seeing it will drop fairlly fast in the near future i would invest in HDD's its cheaper and faster... my 2 cents...

The only thing not to like about it is the multiplier.
