I agree, hence why (as I said earlier) you would probably be better off spending less money on a Q9450 (which you could still overclock if you want even more performance) this would then leave you with more money to spend on a sweet GPU. Doing this would overall benefit you much more than it would to spend huge amount of extra money and take the QX9650 option.....seriously.
The only real difference having a Qx9650 would make is a higher score when benchmarking or maybe a couple of FPS difference - though you would probably still be inclined to overclock it to get the best results anyway - and also those couple of FPS difference wont really be noticeable if you're already getting 50-60 FPS with Q9450.
But you would definitely notice the difference after upgrading your GPU from a 256mb card to say a 512mb Gddr5 (4870) card or even a 9800GX2 - now that would be worth doing.
