major upgrade for my rig

after day of thinking I'm planning to upgrade my rig.
but i have no idea what to take, my current rig is about 2 years old and my knowledge stops there.

the current Intels are strong but the B3 revision of the Phenoms are good performance for the buck.

also the motherboards is a point i cant make up my mind. I've had it with Asus there lack of support on my current motherboard made me lose my faith in them.

so if you guys can give me some advise in what to take, i am very thankful

my budget is around 800 euro thats about 1200$.

i keep my harddrives so there is no need to upgrade them.
if there is money left i want a new sound card so i can smash that crappy creative X-Fi to hell.

You're going to have to make up your own mind in regards to intel or AMD. In either case I recommend an nvidia graphics card with ocz ram.
