Support doesn't matter,

in the caes that a mainboard doesn't support a cpu, it usually just means the CPU's IDENT is not read on the post screen so it shows as Unknown AMD processor, and you have to set it manually.

in this case, the system doesn't recieve the power necessary to boot

Ok I got a question... did you install your x1950 pro while you had the 3000+ in there?? I'm saying this because your video card doesn't appear on the VGA card compatability list...

The trouble was the cpu was an engineering sample cpu
now i have a 3400 newcastle (2400 mhz too but 512 cache) and it works great.

now, my configuration is

barebone shuttle sn85g4v3
3400 newcastle 2400 mhz
sapphire ati x1950pro 512
2gb kingston value ram
psu shuttle 240 W

it works great!!!

Yeah buy a new PSU and try it. 240 IS WAY TOO WEAK!!

P.S.: Like i said before, your video card doesn`t appear on the Shuttle motherboard`s compatibility list. Maybe you are having with that video card and the 3700+

I think the 240 W Psu dosen't had an cpu protection for the power surges!
