Yup i guess that comic pretty much sums up the situation. When will both these peoples realise that they are both there to stay and as such they MUST learn to live with each other peacefully.

There is no other long-term solution. Straying from this in any way is just going to lead to more misery for both sides (and lets face it, both sides have had enough misery).

All the misery they suffer they have (and continue to) bring upon themselves - its almost as if they actually like suffering! . Both sides have the capability to bring harmony to their peoples lives, but they actively choose not to. What has to be changed is peoples attitudes/mindset (and yes its cheesy, but also their hearts too).

Yes they HATE each other but as crazy and far-fetched as it sounds they both simply MUST learn to LOVE each other otherwise they will simply destroy themselves and bring destruction to anyone else who gets involved.

hate leads to anger, anger leads to war ...and war leads to misery..

I'm not trying to be cheesy and i'm not a tree-hugging humanitarian but i really feel there is simply no other way to end this conflict.

Despite what some of you may think (some of you are probaby laughing at what i've said already) it is not impossible, it CAN happen..

I don't think its a problem of "coexist".

Hamas is a terrorist organization and they refuse to accept Israel and the Western World. You can't buy them off like Israel tried in the past. The only solution to get rid of terrorist organization is to conquer Gaza and put all Hamas members in jail or graveyard.

Sadly the Palestinian civilians are bunch of idiots as they are cooperating with Hamas. I don't understand them, they already got what they asked for! Israel left Gaza and helped them to build their own country. Despite the fact that Jordan and Egypt gave it to Israel within the peace agreement.

The best thing to do is to setup an international force, take over Gaza and remove Hamas. If it fails, there will be no choice but to get three B52s on the air and level the entire place with massive carpet bombing. Same thing should be done with Lebanon and Hizbullah.

Of course its a "coexist" issue. You have a lot of people who share the same bit of land and they hate each other = recipe for disaster.

Come on, if they shared the same bit of land and really liked each other do you think there would be this much problems? They have to accept , recognize, and love each other for harmony to ever prevail.

Yes HAMAS is a terrorist organisation dedicated to destroying the zionist state - why? because they hate the jews who presently share what they consider to be their land..

I agree with what you said about the civilians, i don't understand their mentality by supporting HAMAS either, but that goes with what i said before about changing people's attitudes being a key issue here.

I do also think that what Israel is doing right now is wrong with this huge assault, because they are damaging their present relationship, and any future relationship chances by responding with so much force.

Admittedly, this is one option, and i think thats what the Israelis are probably trying to do right now. But by "conquering" you must also "occupy" and when you occupy an aggressors country you get a whole new set of problems..look at Iraq.

This is simply a microcosm in sharp focus of the larger conflict between the Muslim world and the West. The Palestinians backed by other Muslim countries will never be satisfied with any arrangement other than the removal of Israel and the imposition of an Islamic state. Even if an agreement is made they will simply use it to further establish themselves and then find some excuse to restart hostilities.
The same is happening throughout the West.....they refuse to integrate into western society but are continually trying to affect change within those societies by peaceful and terrorist actions their ultimate aim being to turn those societies into Islamic states in which there would not be freedom or democracy. They use the freedom OUR democratic society gives them against US and to further THEIR aims of ultimately a world ruled by Islamic law.

This argument was true until 1996. The day Israel took their legs and left Gaza they have no excuse but racism and barbarism, they proved a while ago when they attacked their own people (Fatach). Even if they controlled Israel, they would kill and cause problems. With these kind of people, you need to speak in their own language.

You are right about Iraq. The US went there to remove Saddam because he caused a lot of trouble. They are trying to establish democracy there but we all know this is unreal as Islam supports violence. This is why I really dislike these people, they are causing problems without any excuse.

I'm inclined to agree with you Reg, Islam exhibits a heck of a lot of hatred for a supposedly "peaceful" religion.
