As of this evening, Barack Obama has clinched the nomination for the Democrats.

I know that what I'm about to post is considered 'politically incorrect' here in the US - and maybe elsewhere, too, but, I honestly believe this to be the fact of the matter. That is, if Obama were not the race he is, he'd likely never have been seriously considered. Does anyone else concur with this?

I know from what I've heard and read so far, he's no "John F. Kennedy".

No Presidents. There should be a Moderated Dictator in this country whose actions and rulings are overseen by elected citizens every 2 years. This govt is probably the most corrupt in the world next to Mexico. If I were going to vote, which I don't, I would vote for Charlie Sheen, what the Hell, he would be as good as any of the 2 morons who are running!

I will vote for McCain, he has a clue on leadership and doesn't get lost when his teleprompter dies on him.

As to ob, I have yet to see a city, county, state in the US run by a black that isn't a total disaster. If you wish to go further, then look at the rest of the world, same results there. Obama doesn't have a clue and because of this he will be a major danger to the US and the world. He is your basic black tyrant looking for a job.

This does not mean that a black can't run things, Dr Thomas Sowell, Dr Walter Williams, Larry Elders, Ward Connerly, all could be viable candidates for the President, they are all, also black. It seems that blacks who win election are promising a free ride and all those who think the world owes them something vote for the free ride and they end up being taken for a ride.

My II cents.

I agree with that. For what ever reason, a lot of lib whites fall all over them selves at the opportunity to vote black.

My suggestion to them is to go to Dr Walter Williams web site and look under gifts, Dr Williams will give them a pardon on the past conduct of their ancestors, he will absolve them of their white guilt. He is black, if you ever get a chance to listen to him, do it, he is a riot and real short on racial reverence.

Walter Williams is a great guy.

I don't like McCain, but I'll vote for him to keep a kid out of the WH. After 140 something days in the Senate, Obama isn't qualified for even being called anything but a Junior or Rookie...much less a President.

While I would agree that "he's no John F. Kennedy", I disagree that he won just because he's black. At the very least he got the nomination due to political backlash from the shenanigans of our current administration. And I feel as though he hit a cord with many younger voters, with his message of "change". Now that doesn't mean that he'll be able to accomplish "real change"... But clearly Americans are ready for some kind of a change.

I might partially agree with the sentiment that neither one is truly qualified. But that's the "Catch 22" (SNAFU) world we live in. I think it's best expressed in the idea that we "get the government we deserve". I know that none of the recent (say last 20 years) candidate selections have been remotely appealing to me. And I always had to vote for the "lesser of two evils". Just that in this case, Obama is appealing. And NOT just because he's black and I have some repressed feelings of guilt over how blacks in this country have been treated.
