It looks like poor capacitors are the problem with creative's cards.

Yeah well if you think replacings caps takes too long, just buy an Auzentech card (the best in my opinion)

But I still don't understand. The X-Fi crackling problem seem to be indeed related to worst Jamicon caps, but my friend has one on his HP and the sound quality is impeccable (probable not as good as Auzentech though). Is it all the X-Fi's that are like that or only a couple of batches?

Talking about sound cards, is there an alternative to the X-Fi that supports all the EAX versions (or most of them) and OpenAL? I know that Auzentech supports up to 2.0.

Keep in mind that i am looking for the sound card that will give me the best results in games. I am using ADI integrated audio and is looking for an alternative that will both sound good and have a good gaming performance.

Any suggestions?

I spoke with one of my frinds, who's way deep intro electronics, and said to me what the person fron CL did nothing

explanation: replacing al cacatitor is not a solution, not even close; as you all know some folks do not have issues with the card
if he would replace only the audio filter ones or the power supply ones and the issues was solved then he will have a point, else .. no

it's quite likely that some caps work and others don't.
like playing russian roulette, only 1 in 6 is the bullet.

what are you talking about?
I think you are misunderstanding what he said.

The brand of creative's caps is a really horrible, generic, cheap junk brand.

Some may work and some may not, therefore showing exactly why some people have more problems than others.

The solution is not to replace one or two specific caps, but to completely replace ALL of them.
