Default X-Fi - good for music and games?

hi all, I am new to this forum so hello to all and everyone!
I need advice on a soundcard.
I am looking for something good for music and games.
Saw the reviews e.g. here but I am curious if anybody has the card already and can tell?
I think about getting this extreme music version...
Currently I am using soundstorm that is on the mobo, it works allright with older games but I spent to much time fiddling with drivers and all, still some games do not work so I decided to have a proper sound card now. My speakers are Teufel 7.1 G Concept
Thanks in advance for your advice

I have the Music version. I upgraded from an A2 ZS, and let me tell you I couldn't be happier.

Welcome to the forums!
To be honest, I'm not creative's fan but I've heard that X-Fi Music edition is a good card and the price is not bad at all.

I'm not either so that says a lot. However, the price of $130 is steep. If you look around you should be able to find some deals on them.

I have a X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS and it is absolutely better than the Audigy 2 SZ Platinum (I still have it)
the software is better (3 modes: game, entertainment, audio creation); the remote is wonderful

hi guys, thanks for all the replies, meantime I saw quite a few reviews and have almost decided for Xtreme Music.
However I am tempted to get a version with X-RAM. Do you think this would be an overkill for the time being or it is a good future-proof purchase? Not sure how many games will support that. I believe it is only BF2 and Quake 4 at the moment.... Does anyone here have information about games that will make a full usage of X-RAM in future?

not sure but, F.E.A.R. is one
there will be alot of them since most of them uses EAX

note: - doesn't have drivers for win x86-64; planned for summer 2006
- there is a new firmware revision that solves a bug with nForce4 chipsets; and isn't possible to software flash-it

Okay, so F.E.A.R. is the next one. Judging from how fast new titles come up, I think I will decide for X-RAM.

The problem with nForce4 boards: is limited to just few makes and can be cured with mobo firmware update, in case of any difficulties Creative organizes replacement. I called them to check that, so this one does not worry me much. I thought 64 bit driver was to be released before Xmas, summer 2006 ? That's bad.

In my opinion, the X-Fi is a great sound card. I personally don't have it, but a friend of mine has, and I've heard the sound of it and got REALLY REALLY impressed.
