Default SB Live 24bit

I read a review of this board a few weeks back, in "comparison" to an Audigy4, from a gamer's / low-budget musician's point of view. It seems to be a pretty good board. The ADC is miles better than the one on the Audigys (and that's a big +, for recording purposes - low SNR).

It accelerates 3d audio (EAX AdvancedHD) in software, but an extra 4% processor load never killed anyone, right?

I recently gathered enough cash to get one of these babies, but I'm interested in two things:

1) 2nd, 3rd etc opinions on this card.

2) Can anyone find out the pinout for the white 10-pin connector in the upper right of the board?? It's for connecting some daughterboard, and it should contain the S/PDIF In and Out.

Well I'm using the HDA Digital X-Mystique 7.1 and I'm still happy with it.

Good for you, but i don't think the Mystique is 40$

I'm really considering buying this SB Live 24bit... And i'm real curious of "human" opinions (as in "not necesarily reviews") I'll one day use it for a mini-recording-studio

Sb 24 bit doesn't have an onboard EAX processor its all done by the cpu which slows gaming down slightly

Audigy 2/4 has onboard EMU10k2/3 processors

ok, well if you want a card that bogs your cpu down whenever you play any EAX compatible games then fine, get the SB live 24 bit

i actually took mine back and went back to my SB Live! 5.1 much better in eax and sounds better as well
