WD has firmware updates???

I dont know, i never see any firmware update for my hard drives...

I have two 320GB WD3200AAKS (single plate) on my pc, they both perform the same around 16ms seek, around 85mb/s average read. They are performing great on raid 0.

Now, i got a new drive, a WD5000AAKS, it performs better, 12ms seek and 100mb/s average read.

It should be of the same model... they all are Caviar Blue WDXXXXAAKS...

Why the 500GB one performs better? i was thinking maybe wd has a never firmware but i dont see any.

lol firmware for hard drives? i dont know about that. there's firmware updates for routers.

as for that 500gb you own, maybe it newer and built different then ur other ones and thats probably why it runs better. for your other hard drives try updating the drivers for em...

Like "Gamer Z" said, you are looking for a driver update, not firmware.

I know Seagate has firmware updates but Im not sure if Wd dose.
