Personally I dont like Creative Labs because of the high prices and the drivers.

Well here a decent creative live 24-bit soundcard costs around 20-40 euros and that ain't so much...I've always liked the company and their products...

SB 24 bit = rip off,

it doesn't have hardware support of EAX instead using software

the Audigy/Audigy 2 are fair better cards and both support EAX4 / HD and have 96hz sound/24bit sound

I agree, my audigy2, and altech lansing speakers work great. A few days ago I downloaded beta drivers for the Sound Blaster Audigy 2/Audigy 2 ZS series and the Doom 3 EAX patch. The room shakes when I play doom3 and some of the wild sounds make the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
I have had this card a couple years now, and I have enjoyed every minute of it.
Prices have droped a lot since I purcahsed mine, you can find them all over the internet for $65-75 which is not bad when compaired to some of the other components that go in to a gaming rig.

You can get the drivers and patch here.

The drivers are buggy as hell.

I don't like creative there drivers or policys. We run a recording studio here and have purchased a lot of there products over the years. A few years back my singer spent good coin on the Aud 1 with the live drive .. in less than a year they dropped driver support for it and we were forced to slipstream Aud 2 drivers in order to keep up to date.

Even then there drivers are very buggy .. I will be purchasing no more creative products here !!

Creative should hire a new driver developers crew.

Actuall I never had problems with creative cards, using Audigy 2 ZS for two years now and the only thing I miss is additional analog headphone input.

The drivers on the original CD are really crap thats right, if you think to test the KX Drivers because they are opensource you will be pawned twice.

Lets wait for Creative X-Fi reviews before we burrrn down creative's factory

btw. Creative site is down...h4cked ?!
