Default New RAM for my computer.

Hi, I want to buy some new RAM for my computer. I wanted to buy my self 4GB(2x2GB) and put them to work with my current memory but I'am not quite sure if they will work with them.
Now I have: Corsair Twin2X DDR2 2x 1GB 800MHz CL4-4-4-12 and I was thinking about these: Corsair Twin2X DDR2 2x 2GB 800MHz CL5-5-5-18 or should I choose these Corsair Twin2X DDR2 2x 2GB 800MHz CL4-4-4-12 so they would work?

Are you running a 64-bit OS? If not, these extra RAM won't do much good. IF you are, they should work fine as long as the motherboard supports the amount of RAM you want.

Here's a link to a PDF showing Memory support. But, I don't even see Corsair that you're using in the list. However, 2GB modules are supported.

Like dyre said, your gonna need a 64bit os to take advantage of 6 gigs, if you do have one then go with the cl4-4-4-12, your want to have the same latency otherwise your motherboard will force one to the other (probably the 4 to 5), and you want to have the same timing as well

Well I have Vista HP x64 so there should work just fine. I checked on Corsairs website and they are compatible from what they say and of course they work whit my mobo . Ok so I will go for the 4-4-4-12 version. Thank for the advice.

Yes, you should do just fine with these. Just be sure you install them in matched pairs for Dual Channel mode.

Then, post back and let us know how much faster your rig flies.

Whatever you do, avoid anything from Crucial unless you're gonna get something in the value Rendition line. I remember a time where I returned 3 pairs of Crucial BalistixTracer and then finally scraped those for some good old trusty Kingston KVR.

Get another set of Corsair Twin2Xs with same timing for the best compatibility.

I've also had a bad experience with Kingston RAM. It went bad after only about 6 months and had to return it. It's not on my list of RAM modules to get anymore.
