Default What is the best mouse for desginer's + gaming?

Hey Guys, So ive decided I need a new mouse, my saitek gm3200 is really starting to annoy, my two biggest gripes with it are the scroll wheel click sucks and the laser isnt mounted in the center of the mouse, whick you dont notice during general use but try drawing a straight line with it. Im a 3d/2d designer, do alot of modeling as well as 2d work, so I need a mouse that will be good for design/modeling but im also a gamer so it needs to bridge the field and be good for both. What do you guys think is the best mouse for the job?

For 2d and 3d (too) designing isn't better tablet?

I think it is much better and low/mid-end tablets are in price of high-end mice.

Razer Salmosa is very cheap, capable of working in 1000Hz but only 1800DPI. The Logitech G5 and G9 are also good but somehow expensive.

the habu looks great but a little expensive, and some mixed reviews salmosa looks alright but not for 50$, g5 is a possibility, g9 is WAY over priced

Well for gaming at least the Razer Lachesis I have is absoutely amazing for gaming. However, it does have a very large yet thin profile, which doesn't please everybody's hand. And I don't know if you'll like it for 3D modelling, you have to try it I guess. Also, its very expensive and I must admit the its' 4000DPI is absolute overkill for 99% of users including me.

I think a G5 (rev2) will fit your needs. Get a good mouse pad that is designed for control rather than speed from manufacturers such as Steelseries or razer.
