Smile New LCD Monitor for my Birthday

My family surprised me Sunday afternoon with a 60th Birthday Party. (My actual birthday is the 25th, though.) With the money I got, I got myself a brand spankin' new 22" LCD monitor. What a thrill! I was able to get that huge 21" CRT off the desk and I can now see the wall behind the monitor. LOL!

The one I got is a Chemei brand. The price was just too good to pass up. And, I have no complaints so far about the image quality, color depth, or anything else about this monitor.

Here's the link for some info. BUT, what is listed there for colors is wrong. It says 16.2 million but it's 16.7 million.

I've watched a few game movies and played through an early mission of one game. So far, I'm just really pleased with this.

AND, I don't see how the image quality could be any better if I went with a DVI-HDMI cable. I'm presently using the regular VGA cable and things are just sharp, crisp, and very responsive. I don't see the need to spend $40 on a special cable.

Looks even better up close. It really is an awesome monitor for that price.

And, it comes with a manufacturer's 3-year warranty, too.

I remember about two years ago, I got a professionnal grade LG 19-inch CRT for like 250$, OPEN BOXED. It's still going strong though, and the colors are simply amazing to say the least. The only better CRT I've seen in terms of color was my dad's old 19-inch NEC Mitsubishi Diamondtron. And I find that LCD's still have trouble to easily beat my LG. I got to admit though, those Chimei monitors are really underestimated. My next monitor will most likely be a Samsung T240 TouchOfColor Series.

By the way happy birthday and happy for you Dyre

Thank you!

Also, a lot of people may not realize it, but, Chimei makes LCD panels for some of the other companies. So, some of our members may actually be using a Chimei LCD and not know it.

Among the companies are: Hitachi, LG, Toshiba, Samsung, Sharp..and others. A pretty extensive list is found here:

I think it would be very hard to find a better deal on a 22 inch LCD than what I got on this one. I'm really enjoying the experience and having to learn a little bit about best settings and other things for my games.

BUMP:

Just wondered if anyone with some experience with LCDs under their belts can lend some advice for a very small 'annoyance' I'm having, please.

During the first 24 hours of service I had no issues at all with the new monitor. But, after it being in service over 24 hours, I've noticed a very, very slight 'green tint' around the letters on the screen. When I first noticed this I did some adjusting with settings and it didn't seem to do much. But, one thing that did seem to help was to change the angle of view in relation to where I sit. That appeared to do the trick at first. But, now it seems nothing will help.

Is this something that's fixable? If so, how's the best way to go about it?

Appreciate any ideas and suggestions.

BTW, it's setup to go to sleep mode when I'm not around.
