the only people having driver issues are those that are running Vista from my understanding. I am running XP and I have ZERO driver issues, everything just works and all my games, MP3s and movies haven't sounded better. I use either a set of Seinnheiser 555 headphones or my Logitech Z5500 for listening and I couldn't be happier.

Even when I was running XP and had my SB Live! card I was always having a different problem with it... for example starting up windows and randomly not detecting the card.

The X-Fi runs rock solid in windows XP x64 no issues what so ever, the problem lies in vista or maybe creatives drivers for vista.

I have two X-FI´s, both in Vista machines. One Titanium X-FI PCI-E in my HTPC and a Xtreme Gamer 64mb Fatal1ty edition in my desktop/game machine and both have ZERO issues on Vista. Sound is perfect and so is performance. I dont know where all the issues come from that so many talk about?? I play games all the time, no crackling or anything. Both systems are Intel based, the htpc has P45 chipset with a e8400 cpu + a 8800gtx, and the game pc has the X38 chipset and a Q9450 cpu and X-Fire with 2 4850´s and still the X-FI runs perfectly in all games??? Maybe im a superiour user??? ZERO problems, 100% perfect sound.

Ps. NO im no Creative employee, and no im no fanboy. But I would never buy 2 of the same chips if I had problems with em?? Oh, btw, Vista64 Ultimate on both machines.

Thanks for that Haze. Any particular workarounds or tweaks you had to implement to get to this status?

Hey Haze I would love to know how you got your cards working in vista x64, I have a XtremeMusic and I have tried every driver released from when vista came out till now and all of them have issues in fear, unreal tournament 3, bio shock , stalker and some other games I cant remember. I major issue I noticed is the sound quality detoriates when playing music through winamp , I have even noticed this when playing flash games over the net too , it gets to the point where the sound starts crackling or gets distorted and I have to restart my computer to fix it. The creative tech concluded its a problem with windows vista and even after SP1 I have the same issue. MS blames creative driers and creative blames MS and I am stuck with a card that only works on windows XP.

So I take it that no cards in creative's lineup use solid caps?

Can't afford it. They're spending too much money on their brainwashing campaigns.
