Upgrading some parts(newbie in need of assistance)

Greetings boys and girls!

My very first post, glade that i found this site, hope i can get some help and help in return

.Been a gamer for years(console) but just got myself into PCs, my friend a year ago helped me to make this system:

So my full system:
CPU:Core2Duo e6600
GPU: HIS ATI x1950xtx
Motherboard: Intel DG965SS
RAM: Kingston KVR667D2N5(2x1gb)
Sound: Sound Blaster audigy 2ZS
HD: W.D Raptor 80gb(10k rpm)
Monitor: Eizo Flexscan M1900
Power source: Tagan TG480-U22

So i was thinking on replacing my 667 MHz ram with OCZ PC2-6400 EL DUAL CHANNEL DDR2 2GB (2gb total) and my GPU with a GAINWARD 8965 BLISS 8800GT.

My questions are to you:
1.Is this a good upgrade all in all in your opinion?
2.Will my power source be Ok with the new video card?
3.x1950xtx and 8800gt have a big difference?(8800 is only around 200$ these days)
4.As for OP should i dump my Windows XP and get Vista(heard that they are unstable, and not good overall for gaming)

1)Yes
2)The watts are OK but remember to check if you have enough AMPs on the 12v rails.
3)The difference will be very noticeable specially with recent titles.
4)Stick with XP.

Now i was wondering if the upgrade for the memory is well worth it too, i mean, will the difference be "noticable"?
Also, i was wondering how many editions this GPU has?I see some with OC others with GLH
others golden,Which one should i get?(value for money talking always)

Well the RAM upgrade would definitely help with overclocking but for stock performance the difference would be tiny, like 1-2fps depending on the benchmark and timings.

As for the GPU pick the overclocked editions if you want a factory overclocked card that comes with a warranty. If you don't care about warranties just get the standard edition and overclock it yourself. Alternatively you can get a golden sample or GLH card that are factory overclocked and have a better cooler preinstalled.

Today i got the mems and decided to put them myself(my very first attempt).Well actually it's childs play to change memory.Only thing is that i pused them abit with strength and i was thinking that i damaged the motherboard's PCB or something.Just to make my paranoia go away, if something was damaged there would be problems right?Startup, playing games etc..

Anyway waiting for the GPU(that one i won't touch!).As for the overclocking thing about the memory, i don't think i can overclock on an Intel DG965SS(i think)besides i don't know anything about over clocking

Normaly when you put the memory stick in the wrong side ... the computer will not open

... so watch out you have an side more longer than the other... sometimes it's hard to put on but ... always with the computers parts if you force too much it's not good ... all the pieces are suposed to fit smothly

And for the overclocking part

if it's runs well don't touch anything... and you will don't have problems and an warrenty void
