Which sound card do you recommend?

I gonna have to get a new sound card. My current one, soundblaster live, is okay, but I had to mod it and such ...

About the new sound card, do you have any to recommend ?

Very basic stuff is it should support _at least _ 48bits / 384KHz input/output, for the my old soundblaster live already supports 32bits / 192KHz output.

So which one do you think I should get, or at least try out ?

i would recommend
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic
as its really good card and has same specs as the way more expensive cards from creative. and i think creative makes the best sound cards on market, but thats my personal opinion

If you want the absolute: Any product from Auzentech.

If you have the available slot, SoundBlaster X-Fi PCIExpress.

the x-fi pci express is crap.. sry to say but read some reviews and it sucks...

i would also saay x-fi extreme music, if i had the money i would buy one of those(it's not THAT expensive and am satisfied with the HD audio 888 on board)

Onboard HD audio is good but the creative x-fi is better

if your serious about gaming and want the best performence do not go with onboard, onboard audio has a way of sapping cpu cycles, especially when you go multichanel hd, a good sound card is a worthy investment

one day i will get the new asus xonar

that thing has the best specs i ever seen on a sound card

i own a audigy 4 (not bad)
it lets you down abit in the dac department
especially noticeable if you listen too jazz
(any1 who says they are the best card has their head in a toilet while listening)
digital jitter is the biggest problem these days

and onboard audio totally sucks, might be alright if you bought your audio equipment from logitech - but then if you did that, you should not be worried whats pushing it cause it`s gonna sound like shit anyway!
