i can't recommend anything by creative labs. or any other consumer/gamer level cards. the soundblaster live pci to this day is the best thing creative labs has ever made, their entire product line is cheap junk so you might want to stick with that and save up for something far superior.
but if you are serious about good audio just shell out the extra bucks for something in the pro or semi-pro range. i doubt you'll have many regrets...
i forgot it wasn't in my specs but i own a gadget labs 8*24 that i bought when they were still in business and it still sounds better than many of the new audio interfaces i've heard, (quality parts). i bet you could pick up one of them for a 100 bucks on ebay but you might be limited to windows xp. fuck vista anyway...
but there are plenty of new pro audio interfaces out there that are worthwhile...
