i'm using 1280x960... and it looks ok so i gues... yes

LATER : didn't pay attention to your question so well and answered crazy, now a standard CRT monitor or non-widescreen LCD is 4:3. widescreen LCDs are 16:10 and widescreen televisions (LCD, plasma, just about any HDTV) are 16:9, now by standard resolutions i mean the folowing (and these are all) : 2560x1600, 1920x1200, 1680x1050, 1440x900, 1280x800, 1024x640, 800x500. If you have, lets say 1024x768 or 1280x1024, anything on your screen will be stretched because these are resolutions for standard (non wide monitors) like i have a little strech in 1280x960 luckly some games like bioshock allow you to change aspect ratio... haven't found that in vista yet plus i don't really think that my video card suports widescreen resolutions, but it doesen't boder me so bad it's just barely noticeble. i hope this answered your question, and sorry again for my mumbaling before
