Thanks very much for the help guys. I tried to disable the onboard audio from the device manager and then reinstalled the latest 64bit
Vista drivers from Creative and it has seemed to work for now.
When I rang the supplier they told me that they had managed to aquire an x-fi extreme gamer card that i originally wanted in the end so i shouldn't worry about not having the extreme
music card that they told me they were going to fit instead. -thanks for letting me know assholes!
There was an issue whereby i seemed to have fixed the problem after disabling the onboard audio then all of a sudden it stopped working completely even though i did absolutely nothing! weird - this eventually was automatically resolved upon installation of the new drivers, and so far, so good. However, i'm not entirely sure whether i can hear my rear speakers working properly! Haven't had much time to mess around and play with the new machine as i'm at work all week aswell.
Its annoying as after spending £1600 and waiting a month for building and delivery I at least expected a fully operating and flawless product - in fact, the machine seems to be working really well now and it looks great too, their prices were also very good but I certainly would
not recommend this supplier (
PC Specialist.co.uk) based on their
customer service which is frankly
appalling. They have really managed to piss me off so much - watch out anyone considering buying from them.
