Default ram hard drives by this time next year?

hi all

i seen a new hard drive the other day

this is not the one
A New RAM Hard Drive from HyperOs | Tom's Hardware
but something similar

ddr3 ram
1066mhz (from memory)
pluged into ide or sata
not sure how too equate the speed diffrence between mhz and rpm
but im sure we it wil be a hell of alot faster.

I for one cant wait for them to become affordable

1 gig of ddr3 at a rrp of 900$ here in aus atm

but like all tech will be affordable soon enough.

sorry about spellin punctuation and that writing this quickish

Default

ram does only store data as long as its powered...
so you need to have it "ON" all time or as long as the battery can stay...

so better keep the money and go on a holiday trip

PS: iff i remember right, they already developed memory that only needs electricity to change data (no, no floppy or harddisk - as fast as ram )

EDIT: i just read this in the article:
Quote:
The i-RAM delivers 126 MB/s vs. only 87 MB/s with the HyperDrive III.
my Raid0 gets 100 MB/s so i am nice in the middle, and way cheaper (and my disk is 600GB not only a few gigs)
